Volunteers have entered more than 213,000 names of Indiana veterans into this searchable database. Originally indexed from 1913-1917, information on service was culled from the muster rolls of Indiana‚Äôs infantry, cavalry, and battery units to assist soldiers and sailors in obtaining their pensions. Contact the Indiana State Archives for the possibility of additional material. This is a demonstration project initiated by the Library of Congress involving multiple partner states and administered by the Washington State Archives. The Indiana Digital Archives is the result of nearly two decades of indexing projects undertaken by Friends of the Indiana Archives volunteers. Some of the record series contained herein will offer all the information available. Other titles will serve as an index.
